Why Is CROS?

CROS Program Evaluation Reports

Using the CAR and COR reports, clinicians, clinical supervisors and administrators in mental health settings can benchmark program effectiveness, monitor the impact of program changes and collect useful needs assessment data.

During the CROS Account Set-Up Process, data identifier codes for the various programs and agencies within your organization are determined. For example, your organization may have 2 different mental health centers, identified as “Agencies” in CROS. Within each mental health center there may be a number of treatment groups (e.g., outpatient, med management, community support) which would each get different Program codes. These identifiers make it easy to sort the data in a variety of ways and can help you use the data in your internal research.

CROS Aggregate Report (CAR)

The CAR provides aggregate data from CROS 3.0 questionnaires completed at different phases in a treatment cycle. CAR information includes:

  • the number of participants and a description of the population using general demographics including primary, secondary and tertiary diagnoses
  • aggregate responses to the following questions: To what extent does use of alcohol or street drugs interfere with the consumer’s recovery, To what extent does the consumer take psychiatric medication as prescribed, and To what extent does taking psychiatric medication help with the consumer’s recovery
  • a comparison of each Program’s scale score means to the scale score means for the entire Agency. Comparisons of Agency to Agency scores or to CROS aggregate database scores are also available
  • A listing of the scale scores for all individuals within a particular Program (prepared upon request)

CROS Outcomes Report (COR)

The CROS Outcomes Report (COR) compares aggregate scale score means for CROS completions over time (Time 1 to Time 2, etc.). Statistical analysis of the change is provided. This format can also be used to compare means between respondents, Programs or Agencies.
